The most common regret with photo frames is "it looked bigger online". Frame sizes are usually the photo size. Our frame is a plain 1 inch border outside the print, so a 12x18 frame is 14 × 20 inches on the wall, and the full 12 × 18 print is visible.
The quick rule
- Above a sofa or bed: the artwork (one big frame or a group) should be about two-thirds of the furniture's width. For a 7 ft sofa that's a group about 4.5 to 5 ft wide, or one 20x30 / 24x36 frame.
- On an empty wall: hang the centre of the frame at about 57 to 60 inches from the floor (eye level).
- Leave a gap: 8 to 10 inches between the top of the sofa or headboard and the bottom of the frame.

Portrait or landscape?
Match the frame to the photo. A standing family photo suits portrait; a group photo or a beach scene suits landscape. In our combo sets you can choose portrait or landscape for every single frame.
